Berks baseball roundup: Adams, Koehler hit homers as Gov. Mifflin beats Wilson

Matt Koehler and Branson Adams each hit home runs as Gov. Mifflin defeated Wilson 14-3 in high school baseball on Monday.

Koehler was 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs, and Adams finished 2 for 5 with 2 RBIs and had a double along with his homer.

Winning pitcher Bryce Detwiler, who went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored in the leadoff spot, pitched 6 innings of 4-hit ball. He struck out 2, walked one and allowed 3 runs, none of which were earned.

RJ Weaver pitched a hitless seventh inning, striking out 2, for the Mustangs (17-1 overall, 10-0 BCIAA Division 1).

Also for the Mustangs, Travis Jenkins was 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs, and Ethan Grim went 2 for with 2 RBIs.

In total, Gov. Mifflin had 15 hits.

For Wilson (10-6, 6-4), Alex Ernesto and Cole Lavin each had an RBI.

Tulpehocken 12, Schuylkill Valley 9

Jared Baer went 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored as Tulpehocken defeated Schuylkill Valley 12-9 on Monday.

Baer doubled and had 2 singles. He was also the winning pitcher, going 4 innings, striking out 4 and allowing 4 hits and one earned run.

Tulpehocken is 10-6, 4-4; Schuylkill Valley is 6-11, 4-6.

Berks Catholic 14, Brandywine Heights 2

Senior Dennys Rodriguez hit two home runs and had 3 RBIs as Berks Catholic defeated Brandywine Heights 14-2 in five innings on Monday.

For the Saints (12-5, 8-2 BCIAA Division 3), Owen Schalk (2 hits), Dom Valent and Victor Mejia each drove in 2 runs.

The Bullets are 4-11, 2-7.

Wyomissing 11, Hamburg 5

Ryan Graham went 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs and scored 2 runs as the Spartans defeated the Hawks 11-5 on Monday.

Also for the Spartans (12-5, 8-3), Noah Rauenzahn went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs.

They each hit 2 doubles.

For Hamburg (10-7, 6-4), Ty Shuey went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

Exeter 12, Reading High 1

Jake Franek hit a three-run home run as Exeter defeated Reading High 12-1 in five innings on Monday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading.

Carter Redding went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI for the Eagles (14-4, 6-4). Reading High is 5-12, 2-8.
