Berks Catholic’s JT Krynock shoots 94 in his PIAA golf debut

Berks Catholic sophomore JT Krynock shot a 94 in his first appearance at the PIAA Class 2A Golf Championships Monday at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

Krynock had qualified for states by placing fifth at the District 3 Championships.

Josh James of Union City won the boys 2A title with a 1-over 72, two strokes ahead of Jackson Bould of Quaker Valley, Josh Soto of Palmerton and Kai Carlson of Avonworth.

District 3 champion Paige Richter took the girls 2A crown with a 1-over 73, one shot ahead of Meghan Zambrano of Greensburg Central Catholic and Lydia Swan of North East.

No Berks golfer qualified for the girls 2A tournament.

The Class 3A boys and girls tournaments are scheduled for Tuesday at Heritage Hills. Wilson junior Evan Jozwiak and Bulldogs senior Jared Foltz are the Berks entrants.
