The Berks County coroner’s office is seeking relatives of Marquita Maiorano, 76, of Kutztown, who died June 19, 2016, in a nursing home of natural causes, in the hope that someone will claim her cremated remains.
Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 14390 Kutztown Road, Richmond Township, handled the cremation of the unclaimed remains without charging the county for the service.
Because county taxpayers did not bear the cost of cremation, the cremains can be released in this case at no cost to the family, Chief County Coroner George Holmes explained.
