Berks County Agricultural Center to Host Open House

The Berks County Agricultural Center will host an Open House on Wednesday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport. Registration is not required.

This event will provide the unique opportunity to learn more about the various levels of assistance available from local, state, and federal organizations that can be utilized by agricultural producers. Exhibits highlighting agricultural programs will be on display in the first-floor auditorium. A panel discussion with various agricultural organizations will take place in the new agricultural center building.

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions from the following organizations:

  • USDA Farm Service Agency
  • Berks County Conservation District
  • Penn State Extension of Berks County
  • USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service
  • Berks County Department of Agriculture

The event will be free-flowing from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with formal presentations and panel discussions from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from agricultural organizations and special guests. Topics of discussion include USDA Farm Service Agency programs, NRCS programs, Penn State Extension various topics, and Conservation District programs. It is an excellent opportunity to evaluate the various levels of service available for agricultural operations to determine which programs can provide benefits for specific situations.
