from Berks County Bar Association
The Berks County Bar Association invites veterans, police officers, volunteer firefighters, and other first responders to register for a free Wills for Heroes event on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Muhlenberg High School, 400 Sharp Ave., Laureldale.
Volunteer attorneys will be preparing a simple will and financial and healthcare powers of attorney for veterans, emergency responders, and their spouses who qualify. Appointments are required. The first appointment will be at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in registering should visit www.berksbar.org or call 610-375-4591 ext. 6.
The Wills for Heroes program is intended for individuals with estates valued at approximately $1 million or less. To determine if your estate is over $1 million, calculate the amount you have in cash, the value of personal property, stocks and bonds, real estate equity, savings, and the cash value of a whole/universal life insurance policy only; not the amount of the insurance policy.
