Berks County musical ensembles unite in one show, ‘All Together Now’

The Miller Center for the Arts located at Reading Area Community College, along with 1st Street Players, Genisius, Reading Civic Theater, Reading Community Players, Reading Theater Project, and Yocum Institute, have announced that they will be joining thousands of national and international theatrical organizations in producing their own local production of Music Theatre International’s “All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre.”

The theatrical licensor Music Theatre International created this revue for theatres to use as a local fundraising event to be performed over the same weekend of Nov. 12, thereby creating a global phenomenon.

All Together Now! features songs from Music Theatre’s beloved catalogue of musicals including “Annie,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Come From Away,” Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins,” Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Godspell,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Hairspray,” “Into the Woods,” “Les Misérables,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Matilda,” “My Fair Lady,” “Once on This Island,” “Rent,” “Waitress” and many more.

“MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians,” said Music Theatre International’s President and CEO, Drew Cohen. “The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre.”

For the first time ever, the city of Reading’s local theater groups are teaming up together for one full day filled with favorite musical songs! The 1st Street Players, Genisius, Reading Civic Theater, Reading Community Players, Reading Theater Project, and Yocum Institute are joining the same stage to put on two shows at the Miller Center at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Nov. 14.

All ticket proceeds will benefit the six theater groups performing in the show. This will be a tremendous help after everyone being dark due to COVID. The show is funded by the Hawley and Myrtle Quier Fund of Berks County Community Foundation.

“The Miller Center is proud to be the home for the many of Berks County’s performing arts organizations,” said Tony DeMarco, executive director of the Foundation for RACC and the Miller Center. “This particular show incorporates many Berks County musical ensembles into one wonderful show, All Together Now.”

Purchase tickets at $25 per person in advance at millercenter.racc.edu/all-together-now or day of the show at $35.
