Berks field hockey roundup for Oct. 7: Berks Catholic scores 5-1 win

Emily Sebastian scored two goals as Berks Catholic defeated Schuylkill Valley 5-1 in field hockey on Monday.

Lily Wolf, Lilly Stirr and Nancy Larkin also scored for the Saints.

Giana Mirenda had two assists and Liv Welker one for the Saints, who had a 10-3 edge in shots.

Logan Muller scored for the Panthers on an assist from Brooke Angstadt.

Berks Catholic goalie Tori Agostini made one save and Welker had a defensive save.

Schuylkill Valley goalie Lainey Crespo made five saves.

Twin Valley 2, Exeter 0

Kylie Duke scored two goals in the first quarter and Twin Valley made it standup in a 2-0 win over Exeter on Monday.

Bella Massafra assisted Duke’s first goal and Sophia Massafra assisted the second goal.

Twin Valley goalie Ava Winchester made one save. Exeter goalie Mackenzie Speece made one save and Phoebe Miller made a defensive save.

Oley Valley 3, Gov. Mifflin 1

Cathryn Fegely scored two unassisted goals as Oley Valley defeated Gov. Mifflin 3-1 on Monday.

Kadyn Rhoads, on an assist from Madison Parisan, scored Oley’s other goal.

For the Mustangs, Grace Kellenberger scored on an assist from Taylor Minick.

Gov. Mifflin goalie Addy Swayne made 11 saves, and Oley goalie Charlotte Prout made five saves.

Oley had a 15-5 edge in shots.

Hamburg 1  Fleetwood 0

Izzy Forte scored on an assist from Ashleigh Guers as Hamburg defeated Fleetwood 1-0 on Monday.

The Hawks had a 12-3 shot advantage.

Hamburg goalie Devon Frantz made three saves. Fleetwood goalie Hailey Eckert made 11 saves.

Wilson 8, Reading High 1

Eight different players scored in Wilson’s 8-1 win over Reading High on Monday,.

Sam Martinez, Laura Crocona, Ava Connor, Andreya Raifsnider, Kiera Hartman, Lizzy Long, Giana LeClerc and Charlotte Arner scored for the Bulldogs.

Caroline Horace, Macy Adams, Olivia Reinhart, Connor, Ryan Leaman, Madeline Slabik (2) and Kayli Ballas had assists.

Yoleian Morales, assisted by Victoria Torro and Alana Vasquez, scored the Red Knights.

Wilson had a 19-4 edge in shots.

Wilson goalies Catherine Wolf (1) and Natalie Rapp (2) combined for three saves. Reading High goalie Shaylynn Bailey made 11 saves.

Wyomissing 3, Conrad Weiser 0

Lola Gentile scored two goals and Skylar Maggs scored a goal and had an assist as Wyomissing defeated Conrad Weiser 3-0 on Monday.

The Spartans had a 21-7 edge in shots.

Wyomissing goalies Elina Serrano (0) and Mallory King (7) combined for seven saves.

Conrad Weiser goalies Megan Manbeck (10) and Alexis Quinn (2) combined for 12 saves.

Cocalico 2, Daniel Boone 0

Kyra Arment and Annaliese Harnish scored as Cocalico defeated Daniel Boone 2-0 on Monday.

For the Blazers, goalie Breanne Marchiano made 11 saves, and Kamryn Burmester made two defensive saves.

Kutztown 3, Pottsgrove 1

Madison Haring, Cloey Renner and Annaliese Horvath scored goals in Kutztown’s 3-1 win over Pottsgrove on Monday.

Kamryn Henry had two assists.

Kutztown goalie Peytan Diffenbaugh made three saves. Pottsgrove goalie Gabby Yearger made six saves.
