Madyx Gruber returned an interception for a touchdown and threw a touchdown to lead Wilson to a 21-7 non-league high school football victory over Plymouth-Whitemarsh on Friday night.
Gruber picked off a pass and ran it back 67 yards to put the Bulldogs (2-0) up 21-0 with 22 seconds left in the third quarter.
Gruber’s 13-yard pass to Jaiden Carpenter for a touchdown put Wilson ahead 7-0 with 23 seconds left in the second quarter.
Correll Akings made it 14-0 when he scored from one-yard out with 4:19 left in the third quarter.
Christo Hunsicker kicked all three extra points for the Bulldogs.
Plymouth-Whitemarsh scored on a 36-yard pass with 4:42 left in the game for the final score.
Akings, on 13 carries, and Gruber, on 21 carries, each gained 57 yards rushing.
Gruber was 6 of 12 passing for 40 yards.
Exeter 49, Boyertown 7
Jayden Zandier rushed for 205 yards on eight attempts and scored three touchdowns to lead Exeter to a 49-7 high school football victory over Boyertown on Friday night.
The Eagles are now 2-0 and have outscored their opponents 85-7 through the first two weeks of the season.
Zandier had scoring runs of 65, 37 and 67 yards.
Exeter quarterback Riley Martinez completed 6 of 9 passes for 95 yards and one touchdown.
Exeter goes on the road in Week 3, playing at Pleasant Valley in Monroe County on Friday at 7 p.m.
