Matthew Jones scored two touchdowns to lead the Haverford School to a 20-3 non-league football victory over Wyomissing on Friday.
It was the season opener for the Fords, who are not members of the PIAA, while the Spartans drop to 1-1.
Jones scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter to put Haverford School up 13-0 at halftime.
Keegan Maher kicked a 33-yard field goal with 2:11 left in the third quarter to make it 13-3.
Jones then caught a 58-yard pass from Finn Tierney with 11:09 left in the game to make it 20-3.
The Fords scored in the first quarter when quarterback Thomas Gaffney hit Nick Krakovitz with a 54-yard scoring strike at the 8:42 mark.
Gaffney later got hurt in the game and was replaced by Tierney.
Wyomissing had 101 yards of total offense and five first downs to 307 total yards for the Fords and 10 first downs.
The Spartans are on the road again in Week 3, playing Academy of the New Church in Bryn Athyn. The game is Friday at 4:15 p.m.
