Berks girls tennis: Wilson, Tulpehocken, Brandywine Heights score wins

Jin Lin Chen, Brooke Mengel and Emily Tippin won in singles by straight sets to lead Wilson to a 5-0 non-league girls tennis victory over Pottsville on Wednesday.

In doubles, Victoria Sheehan and Lucy Lamparella, and Delaney Kraras and Seona Shah combined for victories.

Brandywine Heights 5, Muhlenberg 2

Jamie Davidheiser, Kayla Wilson and Devra Longacre won singles matches to lead Brandywine Heights to a 5-2 girls tennis victory over Muhlenberg on Wednesday.

For Muhlenberg, Hayley Moyer and Lexi Garrido won singles matches.

Brandywine Heights swept the doubles matches, with wins by the pairs of Davidheiser and Wilson, and Longacre and Lena Vaccaro.

Hempfield 4, Exeter 1

Myah Marturano won in singles for Exeter, but Hempfield took the other two singles matches and swept the doubles matches in a non-league girls tennis match on Wednesday for a 4-1 victory.

Marturano beat Alex Gregory 3-6, 6-2, 10-4.

Tulpehocken 4, Reading 3

Tulpehocken won three singles matches, including two by walkover, to defeat Reading 4-3 in a Berks girls tennis match on Wednesday.

At second singles, Annie Folk of Tulpehocken defeated Leslie Gomez 6-4 , 6-4.

For Reading in singles, Haylee Ortega beat Macey Schwalm 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Angelina Peñaloza defeated Meghan Bucher 6-4 , 6-1 at third singles.

Ephrata 5. Gov. Mifflin 0

Elise Johnson scored a straight set victory at No. 1 singles to lead Ephrata to a 5-0 girls tennis victory over Gov. Mifflin on Wednesday.

Berks Catholic 7, Twin Valley 0

Ariana Plevrakis, Sarah Schatz, Isabella Logozzo, Francesca Ditsky and Maddie Gordos won in singles to lead Berks Catholic to a 7-0 Berks high school girls tennis victory over Twin Valley on Wednesday.

All five players won in straight sets.
