Berks high school football: Gov. Mifflin beats Muhlenberg 41-6

Grady Garner gained 165 yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns as Gov. Mifflin defeated Muhlenberg 41-6 Sunday in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 football game at Gov. Mifflin.

Garner scored in the first quarter on a 2-yard run to give the Mustangs (3-2, 1-1) a 6-0 lead.

He scored on a 3-yard run in the third quarter.

Javien Peltz threw two touchdown passes and ran for another two for Gov. Mifflin.

Peltz threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Travis Jenkins in the second quarter and a 7-yard TD pass to Reese Hohl later in the quarter.

He sandwiched a 1-yard scoring run between his touchdown passes.

In the third quarter, he scored on a 5-yard run.

Muhlenberg (3-2, 1-1) scored its touchdown on a 56-yard pass from Adriel Baez to Michael Miller.

The was originally scheduled to be played Friday night at Albright College but was postponed because of a threat of gun violence, according to Muhlenberg School District officfials.
