Berks high school honor roll: Oct. 4, 2021

Boys cross country

Schuylkill Valley senior Luke Seymour finished third in the Paul Short Invitational White Race at Lehigh University, covering the 3.1-mile course in a personal-best time of 15:38.

Girls cross country

Wilson senior Katie Dallas finished fifth in the Paul Short Invitational Brown Race at Lehigh University, running the 3.1-mile course in 18:20.9.

Field hockey

Twin Valley senior Makayla Carahaly scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Wilson and had three goals and an assist in a win over Conrad Weiser.

Football

Wyomissing senior Amory Thompson scored touchdowns on a 41-yard run and 98-yard kickoff return to help the Spartans defeat Southern Columbia 41-21, ending the nation’s longest high school football winning streak at 65.

Boys golf

Wilson junior Evan Jozwiak parred the first playoff hole to win the BCIAA individual championship and helped the Bulldogs win the team crown at Blackwood Golf Course. He finished with a 27-hole total of 6-over 111.

Girls golf

Kutztown junior Emilee Barkley birdied the first playoff hole to win the BCIAA individual championship at Willow Hollow Golf Course. She finished with an 18-hole total of 94.

Boys soccer

Reading High senior Kevin Guzman had four goals and two assists to help the Red Knights earn an 8-3 win over Berks I leader Gov. Mifflin.

Girls soccer

Wyomissing senior Izzy Marshall had three goals and an assist to help the Spartans remain undefeated with wins over Tulpehocken, Brandywine Heights and Hamburg.

Girls tennis

Conrad Weiser sophomore Emma Perkins went 3-0 at No. 1 singles, helping the Scouts complete the regular season undefeated and advance to the championship match of the BCIAA Team Tournament for the fourth straight year.

Girls volleyball

Fleetwood junior Geeske Camp had 19 kills, nine digs, five blocks and seven aces in straight-set wins over Wyomissing and Brandywine Heights.

Boys water polo

Gov. Mifflin junior Matt Novotny had four goals and an assist in an 18-15 win over Wilson and two goals and six assists in a 19-10 win over Muhlenberg.

Girls water polo

Gov. Mifflin senior Ella Tice scored seven goals in an overtime victory over Muhlenberg and two goals in a 10-8 win over Wilson.
