Berks high school sports honor roll: April 15, 2024

Baseball
Gov. Mifflin junior Bryce Detwiler went 2-for-3 with a triple, a grand slam, four RBIs and three runs scored to help the Mustangs to a 10-0 win over Exeter. Detwiler also hit a triple in Gov. Mifflin’s 11-10 win over Fleetwood.

Boys lacrosse
Wilson junior Carter Brensinger had 11 goals and six assists across three Bulldogs’ victories. He had five goals and one assist in a 17-0 win over Gov. Mifflin.

Girls lacrosse
Twin Valley senior Hadley Munn had nine goals and four assists across three Raiders’ victories. She had four goals and two assists in a 15-1 win over Berks Catholic.

Softball
Hamburg senior Kylah Reading went 3-for-3 with three home runs and six RBIs in the Hawks’ 8-2 win over Twin Valley before going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in a 6-1 victory over Kutztown.

Boys tennis
Conrad Weiser junior Charles Coleman won a singles match and a doubles match to help the undefeated Scouts beat Reading High 5-2.

Boys track and field
Exeter senior Josiah Newman broke the school record in the discus with a throw of 161-7 during the Eagles’ 103-47 win over Wilson. Newman broke the record again later in the week when he recorded a throw of 169-3 and took the top spot in the event at the Hempfield Black Knight Invitational.

Girls track and field
Twin Valley sophomore Hailey Kilgore won the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.99 and the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.62 to help the Raiders to a 102-46 win over Conrad Weiser and a 125-25 victory over Hamburg in a tri-meet.

Boys volleyball
Gov. Mifflin junior Armani George had 10 kills and four blocks in the Mustangs’ 3-2 win over Wilson before recording seven kills and two blocks in a 3-0 victory over Fleetwood.
