Berks high school sports honor roll: April 22, 2024

Oley Valley sophomore pitcher Timothy Fries struck out 10 batters and recorded an RBI to help the Lynx to a 5-4 win over Kutztown.

Boys lacrosse
Wyomissing freshman Beckett Redner had 11 goals and two assists across three games. He scored six goals in the Spartans’ 13-8 win over Eastern York.

Girls lacrosse
Gov. Mifflin senior Emily Gauker scored six goals to lead the Mustangs to a 16-7 win over Daniel Boone. Gauker also scored three goals, including the 100th of her career, in Gov. Mifflin’s 14-7 win over Schuylkill Valley.

Berks Catholic senior pitcher Danielle Hayward struck out 17 and hit a double in the Saints’ 10-2 win over Wyomissing.

Boys tennis
Twin Valley junior Dylan Bonds defeated Wilson’s Austin Kohler 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the finals of the Berks Boys Tennis League Flight 1 singles tournament.

Boys track and field
Wyomissing senior Collin Niedrowski finished first in the javelin with a throw of 171-2 at the Leonard Stephan Invitational at Wilson.

Girls track and field
Gov. Mifflin senior Kaitlyn Highduch finished first in the 1600 with a time of 5:08.79 and first in the 3200 with a time of 11:10.41 at the Leonard Stephan Invitational at Wilson.

Boys volleyball
Exeter senior Gaige Gabriel had 18 kills, five digs and one ace for the undefeated Eagles in a 3-0 win over Gov. Mifflin.
