Berks high school sports honor roll: March 18, 2024

Boys basketball
Reading High senior Yadiel Cruz scored 21 points in the Red Knights’ win over Erie McDowell in a PIAA Class 6A second-round game before scoring 25 points in a victory over Coatesville in a PIAA Class 6A quarterfinal.

Girls basketball
Wyomissing junior Amaya Stewart scored a career-high 33 points in the Spartans’ win over Neumann-Goretti in a PIAA Class 4A second-round game before scoring 24 points in a victory over North Catholic in a PIAA Class 4A quarterfinal.

Girls bowling
Gov. Mifflin junior Lily Watts rolled a 607 series in the qualifying round of the PA State High School Bowling Championships, helping the Mustangs capture the eventual team title.

Boys swimming and diving
Gov. Mifflin junior Alex Wodehouse earned a silver medal with an overall score of 492.50 at the PIAA Class 3A boys diving championships at Bucknell University.

Girls swimming and diving
Wilson junior Emma Dougherty finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.44 at the PIAA Class 3A girls swimming championships at Bucknell University. Dougherty finished eighth in the 50 free in 23.86 seconds and was a member of the 200 free relay team that earned silver with a time of 1:35.77. She was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that earned silver with a time of 1:43.41.
