Berks high school sports honor roll: March 4, 2024

Boys basketball
Berks Catholic senior Parker Nein scored 22 points in the Saints’ loss to Eastern York in a District 3 Class 4A semifinal. Nein also scored 21 points in Berks Catholic’s win over Fleetwood in the District 3 Class 4A third-place game.

Girls basketball
Wyomissing junior Amaya Stewart had 23 points in a win over Northern Lebanon in a District 3 Class 4A semifinal before scoring 14 points in a victory over Delone Catholic in the final, lifting the Spartans to their second straight district title.

Boys bowling
Gov. Mifflin junior Chase Spiers rolled a five-game total of 1055 at the Eastern PA regional championships.

Girls bowling
Gov. Mifflin junior Valleri Addis rolled a five-game total of 1054 to advance to the opening elimination round at the Eastern PA regional championships.

Boys swimming
Schuylkill Valley sophomore Owen Eisenhofer broke a District 3 record in the 100 back to win gold with a time of 49.85 at the District 3 Class 2A swimming championships. Eisenhofer also won the 100 fly in 50.80 seconds. In addition, Eisenhofer was a member of the 400 free relay team that won with a time of 3.17.54.

Girls swimming
Wilson junior Emma Dougherty won gold in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.66 at the District 3 Class 3A swimming championships. Dougherty also swam on the District 3 record-breaking 200 medley relay team that won gold in 1:42.88. She also swam on the winning 200 free relay team that won gold in 1:36.52.

Boys wrestling
Berks Catholic senior Brody Kline defeated Faith Christian’s Mark Effendian 4-2 in the finals to win the 285-pound title at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional Tournament.

Girls wrestling
Wyomissing junior Olivia Tillman pinned Penn Manor’s Anissa Orr in 55 seconds to win the 142-pound title at the inaugural PIAA District 3 Girls Wrestling Championships. Tillman was the only wrestler to score a fall in the finals.
