An 18-year-old Douglassville man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash last weekend in southern Schuylkill County, state police said.
Zachary Bodolus was traveling east on Hawk Mountain Road on a motorcycle on April 14 about 2 p.m. when he lost control on a right curve, troopers from the Schuylkill Haven station said.
They provided this further account:
The motorcycle went into the opposite lane into the path of a westbound pickup truck driven by Kelby Sivek, 28, of West Chester.
To avoid a head-on collision, Bodolus laid the bike on its right side. As it slid, the motorcycle’s undercarriage struck the front end of the truck and came to a stop off the westbound shoulder.
Bodolus was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital, near Allentown. Information on his medical condition was unavailable.
Neither Sivek nor his passenger was injured.
