Birdsboro woman charged with attacking, pepper spraying ex-sister-in-law

A Birdsboro woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attacking her ex-sister-in-law along an Exeter Township road, including dousing the victim with pepper spray.

Susan Oxenford, 56, of the 200 block of Ada Drive was charged with simple assault and harassment. She remained free following arraignment before District Judge F. Richard Drumheller.

According to Exeter police:

The victim was driving north in the 400 block of Red Lane Road shortly before 3 p.m. when she saw Oxenford, her ex-sister-in-law, riding a scooter. Oxenford spotted the victim and began weaving in and out of traffic.

The victim said Oxenford stopped her scooter in front of her vehicle, forcing her to stop. Oxenford approached the victim’s vehicle and began spraying pepper spray into it.

Oxenford pulled the victim out and began punching her in the head and dragging her under the vehicle.
