Blue Mountain Hall of Fame to induct 8 members

The Blue Mountain All-Sports Hall of Fame will induct eight members on Friday, Oct. 13, during ceremonies at halftime of the Blue Mountain vs. Saucon Valley football game at the Eagles Nest.

A gathering for new inductees, their families and current Hall of Fame members will be held before and during the game on the stadium grounds, and a reception will be held after the game at Roman Delight Restaurant.

The following will be inducted as chosen by a vote of Hall of Fame members:

John Dobrolsky Jr. — A 1986 Blue Mountain graduate, John excelled at baseball, earning four varsity letters. As a pitcher, John earned All-County honors for two years, including an 11-0 record his junior year. He also played first base and shortstop. His senior year .585 batting average was a school and county record at the time. John also earned two letters on the basketball team. He went on to be a four-year baseball letterman at Shippensburg. Today he lives in Downingtown and is employed by Norit Americas as technical sales manager.

Brook Gosch —  Brook graduated in 2010 and earned three letters in wrestling. He was a Schuylkill League champion and a three-time District XI 2nd Place medalist. Brook also earned three letters with the football team. Brook continued wrestling at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He served five years as an Army officer, achieving the rank of Captain. Brook resides in York, where he is employed as a medical device sales representative for Globus Medical.

Andrew Howell — A 2001 graduate. He earned three varsity letters with the football team as a starter at running back and linebacker and earned All-County and All-Anthracite honors. His teams won two district titles. Andrew also earned 3 letters on the baseball team, and participated in wrestling. Andrew continued his football career at William Paterson University. He went on to become a state championship winner as a head football coach in New Jersey. Andrew resides in Rutherford, N.J., where he is vice-principal of Pompton Lakes Middle School.

Alexa Jones Hauer — Alexa graduated in 2009 and earned 11 varsity letters in volleyball, swimming and track, winning numerous league and other honors along the way. Following graduation, Alexa enrolled at Albright College, where she was a four-year starter for the volleyball team and was selected captain her senior year. She also achieved Academic All-Conference honors. Alexa resides in Tamaqua and  is on the faculty of the Tamaqua Area School District.

John Reilly — A 2009 graduate, John excelled in cross-country and track, earning four letters in each. He holds the school cross-country course record. He attended Shippensburg University on a cross-country/track scholarship. John resides in Ashland, PA. He has served in the Army Reserve for 12 years and is a staff sergeant for the 94th Training Division at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Madyson Riegel —  Graduating in 2014, Madyson was a standout on the soccer and track teams, earning 4 letters in each sport. She was an All-County and All-State soccer player. She held the school records for career points scored. Her soccer teams won four county and two district titles. For the track team, Madyson participated in the javelin event. She earned a soccer and track scholarship to The Citadel. Madyson lives in St. Clair and works for Geisinger Health System.

Richard Wildermuth —  A 1971 graduate, Rick was a three-sport standout, earning a total of nine varsity letters. In football, he was a two-way starter at quarterback and defensive back. He average more than 10 points per game in basketball. And on the baseball team, he was a shortstop and pitcher. He led the team in batting average his senior year. He was recently inducted into the Allen-Rogowicz Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame. Rick is retired and resides in Wayne Township.

Glen Belmont —  Glen is being honored for her lasting contributions to the Blue Mountain athletics legacy through her work with the youth and high school swimming programs. Glen grew up in Philadelphia and attended Temple University, where she participated on the swim team. She then taught for 31 years in Philadelphia schools and coached swimming, volleyball and basketball.
Relocating to the Orwigsburg area in the late 1990s, she offered guidance and mentoring to Bllue Mountain swimmers. The school district renamed the middle school natatorium in her honor. She passed away in 2019, at age 86.
