Book study group focusing on spiritual themes to meet in Kutztown [Religion Digest]

The Spiritual Exploration Project will begin a new expression of the Contemplative Spirituality group with a monthly book discussion that will focus on spiritual themes relevant to the times in which we live, beginning on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 257 W. Walnut St., Kutztown, and continuing on the second Thursday of each month.

The group first will study “The Brothers Karamozov” by Fyodor Dostoevsky,  a theological drama that addresses the problems of faith, doubt and reason, followed by a meeting of the Contemplative Spirituality group.

The discussion will be facilitated by Craig Bennett, a retired professor who has studied “The Brothers Karamazov.” The novel is divided into 12 books and an epilogue. One section will be studied each month. You are invited to join either as a reader or to simply audit, learn and participate. For more information, contact Dr. Harry L. Serio at hlserio@aol.com.
