Boyertown Community Library says farewell to library director

The Boyertown Community Library says farewell to library director Susan Lopez, announcing her resignation.

“After 12 years, it is with mixed emotion that I am announcing my resignation as Director of the Boyertown Community Library,” said  Lopez in the announcement. “It has been such an honor to have served the community in this capacity and I look forward to being able to serve in different ways in the coming months. The library is a wonderful place, with wonderful people and I have been blessed to have been part of it.”

Her last day is Friday, March 25.

Nicole Kelly will be the new library director.

“My goal as director is to use my experience and skills to enhance library services, programming and community access,” said Kelly in the announcement.

Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in history from Rosemont College, a master’s degree in history from Villanova University and a master of library and information science degree from Rutgers University. She has more than 20 years of experience as a school librarian.

“As a resident of the Boyertown area, I am very excited to lead the library and ensure patrons a valuable and enriching experience,” said Kelly.
