Boyertown Optimist youth safety event features Stranger Danger program

The Optimist Club of Boyertown will host a youth safety event, Optimist Youth Safety, at the Gilbertsville YMCA on Oct. 2 from 12 to 3 p.m.

The event includes fire trucks, ambulance, police fingerprinting, and Master Kim’s Black Belt Academy will present a Stranger Danger program from 1 to 2 p.m.

“In many ways it takes an entire community to ensure our children grow up in a safe environment,” said Club President Mike Stanchak. “With this program, we hope to do our part in ensuring that local children grow up safely.”

Youth must register with the Optimist Club for the Stranger Danger program at Boyertownoptimist@gmail.com.

Other programs and service projects that the Club is involved in include football, cheering, field hockey, basketball, softball, boys’ lacrosse and girls’ lacrosse.
