Brandywine Heights’ Jake Deysher, Berks Catholic’s Brody Kline win wrestling titles at the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament

Brandywine Heights’ Jake Deysher and Berks Catholic’s Brody Kline won titles and 26 other county wrestlers also advanced out of the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament Saturday at Central Dauphin East High School.

The top six at each weight class will return to CD East for the District 3 Class 2A Championships Feb. 26 at 10 a.m.

Deysher, a junior, defeated Camp Hill’s Marcus Colson 7-4 in the 120-pound final to win his second straight title. He won at 106 pounds last year.

Kline, a sophomore, won his second straight title at 215 pounds. He pinned Hamburg’s Daregan Motto in 2:35 in the championship match.

Kline was one of seven Saints to advance to a final, which helped Berks Catholic finish second in the team standings to Bishop McDevitt. The Crusaders, who won five titles, finished with 219.50 points. The Saints finished with 217. Northern Lebanon was third with 214 points.

Placing second for Berks Catholic were Brayden Hartranft at 106, Marvin Armistead at 132, Carmine Lenzi at 138, Gabriel Davis at 172, Timothy Saylor at 189 and Mason Iswalt at 285.

Also advancing to districts were Brandywine’s Jacob Greiss, fourth at 106; Berks Catholic’s Christopher Smith, fourth at 113; Schuylkill Valley’s Kelsey Busch, sixth at 113; Brandywine’s Dillon Reinert, third at 126; Berks Catholic’s Noah Rosa, sixth at 126; Schuylkill Valley’s Ian Vitalo, third at 132; Tulpehocken’s Mark Forry, sixth at 132; Brandywine Heights’ Josh Sterner, third at 138; Hamburg’s Cohen Correll, sixth at 138; Berks Catholic’s John Maurer, third at 145; Berks Catholic’s Ricardo Tinoco, fourth at 152; Wyomissing’s Jeremiah Diaz, sixth at 152; Schuylkill Valley’s David Rhein, sixth at 160; Brandywine’s Chase Hartline, sixth at 172; Schuylkill Valley’s Ethan Yoh, third at 189; Brandywine’s Nicholas Browning, fifth at 189; Kutztown’s Joseph Rice, sixth at 189; Hamburg’s Charles Sheppard, third at 285; and Wyomissing’s Caleb Brewer, fourth at 285.
