Bring The Change is proud to announce its second annual Black Excellence Soiree, themed “Bridging the Gap: Intergenerational Dialogue & Collaboration.” This vibrant celebration of Black heritage and achievement will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Alvernia University’s Francis Hall Atrium, 400 Saint Bernardine St., Reading.

This year’s soiree will focus on fostering connections and partnerships between generations within the Black community. The evening promises an enriching experience, highlighting the importance of preserving our roots while building a brighter future.

Event Highlights:

  • Panel discussion: Engage with local university students and experts as they explore and discuss crucial aspects of Black heritage, emphasizing the importance of honoring our history.
  • Cultural exhibition: Immerse yourself in a captivating showcase of African heritage through dynamic dance performances, inspiring music, poetry, and a vibrant fashion show. Experience the beauty and diversity of our culture firsthand.

The Black Excellence Soiree is a celebration of achievement, history, and community connection! Students from Albright College, Alvernia University, Kutztown University, Penn State Berks, and Reading Area Community College will be featured. This inspiring evening will honor two outstanding community leaders and advocates: Ebony McNeil (Founder and CEO of The Forge) and English Bradley (Mayor Moran’s Chief of Staff).
