The Brick Reading Railroad returns to the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum in Hamburg the next two weekends, July 27 and 28 and Aug. 3 and 4. This highly detailed miniature of the Reading Railroad designed and built of Lego bricks has been expanded by its creator, local college student Zachary Kauffman.
Trains operate through a village of unique Lego-brick buildings, including a replica of Franklin Street station. Visitors may operate microscale Lego trains using an ultrasonic sensor.
The museum is located at 500 S. Third St. and is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. The Brick Reading Railroad exhibit is included with museum admission: adults, $9; seniors, $8; children ages 5-12, $3; under 4, free.
Visitors may also tour the “Remembering the Reading Railroad Rail Rambles” exhibit, see other operating model trains and take a guided tour of the outdoor exhibit of locomotives and passenger and freight cars.
