Farmers market
The Antietam Valley Farmers Market’s final Monday Market Mingle of the year is set for Monday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Antietam Valley Recreation & Community Center at Carsonia Park, 905 Byram St., Pennside.
There will be craft vendors and community organization tables in addition to the usual market vendors. A fundraiser raffle will be held with prizes from a variety of local businesses, wine and beer baskets and more. Dan Hauk will be performing music.

On Jan. 6 at 7 p.m., Vince Pellegrini presents “Focus Stacking (and Some Other Neat Things).” He has been using creative focus stacking in an unusual way. Manual and in-camera automatic techniques will be reviewed. Other possible topics include building a diptych or more in Adobe Lightroom, in-camera multiple exposure “coloration” and some Lightroom processing tips.

On Jan. 20 at 7 p.m., Huibo Huo will present “The Power of Simplicity in Black and White Landscape Photography.” The San Diego-based landscape photographer will offer a view into her beautiful images and delve deep into a few ideas and techniques in seeking photographic simplicity in the field and during the postprocessing.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m., antique dealer and appraiser Chris Papadakis will present a program at the West Lawn – Wyomissing Hills Library, 101 Woodside Ave., West Lawn. Winter 5K fundraiser
New Journey Community Outreach is holding its Coldest Night of the Year 5K on Feb. 22 at Penn State Berks in Spring Township. Registration is open for individuals and teams.
Hundreds of people rely on NJCO for food aid through its pantry and daily lunch program. The funds raised at the 5K will help expand these services
Walkers of all ages are invited to take part in the event, which raises funds for the organization and awareness of the ongoing struggle against homelessness and hunger.
