Campus notes: Aug. 13, 2023

The following local summer graduates of Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport, received student achievement awards:

Megan M. Shaylor, Reading, received the Radiography Major Faculty and Staff Award and Mount Nittany Medical Center Excellence in Customer Service Award.

Nathan C. Brinker, Fleetwood, received the Restoration Faculty Award for the highest cumulative average in automotive restoration technology.

Alumni award

Berks County native Daniel Boone High School graduate Whitnie-Rae Mays won the Penn College of Technology  Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award this summer.

Mays earned a Bachelor of Science in applied technology studies from Penn College in 2014 and an Associate of Applied Science in advertising art in 2012. She is a graphic designer and marketing specialist with Lycoming Engines, a manufacturer of aircraft engines headquartered in Williamsport.

The Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a graduate who has generously volunteered time and talent at Penn College events and activities.

Emerson honoree

Fiona Brown of Sinking Spring won the Marlboro Institute Freshman/Sophomore Prize at Emerson College, Boston. The award recognizes academic excellence and dedication to the Marlboro Institute community.

Brown is a junior interdisciplinary studies major in Emerson’s Marlboro Institute liberal arts program.
