Every year, more than 13,000 children in Pennsylvania are in need of safe, loving foster homes. This National Foster Care Month, CHOR Youth and Family Services invites the community to come together for a special event celebrating the extraordinary efforts of foster families—and to explore how others can get involved in making a difference.
“Together We Foster” Meet and Greet Brunch will be held on Thursday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Crossroads Family Restaurant, 4643 Pottsville Pike, Reading.
This heartfelt brunch brings together current foster families, dedicated staff, and local organizations for a morning of connection and community. Whether you’re already involved or simply curious about becoming a foster or respite care parent, this event is the perfect opportunity to learn how you can contribute.
What to expect:
- Hear real stories from foster families and staff.
- Connect with organizations offering foster care support.
- Discover ways to become a foster or respite parent, volunteer, or advocate.
- Enjoy a welcoming, informative environment with a shared meal.
Adults over 21 from across PA who are interested in helping children in need, either now or in the future, are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to Jen Horrocks by Sunday, May 11, at 610-655-5555 or JHorrocks@choreading.org. Let’s come together to support children, uplift families, and build a stronger community—one foster connection at a time.
