Celebrate Science Day Returns – May The Force Be With You!

The Reading Science Center is excited to invite you to the second annual Celebrate Science Day on Sunday, May 4, from 1-5 p.m., outdoors rain-or-shine at Drexel University College of Medicine, 50 Innovation Way, Wyomissing. The event offers free entry and free parking, which is available at Teleflex, 35 Innovation Way, Wyomissing.

This year’s theme is “May the Force Be with You!”— a playful nod to the powerful forces of science and imagination that spark curiosity and innovation. Join the Reading Science Center for an afternoon featuring hands-on science activities, live demonstrations, roaming science characters, music, food vendors, and more surprises for the whole family!

For activities, Reading Science Center will partner with Mighty Rockets; Stop Motion Animation; Mix Your Own Bubbles; Fiber & Hair Forensics; Pin the Organ on the Apron led by Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health; Reading Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Coach; TowerDIRECT EMS Ambulance; Hovercraft Rides led by REACH Cyber School; Elmwood Park Zoo Animals; Pennsylvania Herpetology Society with Native and Exotic Reptiles and Amphibians; Commonwealth Charter Academy’s Mobile Aquaponics Lab; The Science Behind A Fire, Fire Prevention, and Kids’ Flame House with West Reading Fire Department; Lehigh Valley Section of the American Chemical Society with The Chemistry of Glacier: “Cool Chemistry, Hot Topic”; East Penn Manufacturing with their Jumper Cable Interactive Display; pH Testing with Brentwood Industries; Pennsylvania Geological Survey; X-Ray Bone Matching with Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences Medical Imaging Program; Environmental Science Activities with the Rodale Institute; Princess Luna with Crater-Making, Constellation Crafts, and Moon Jumps; Step into Science Exhibit designed by Leslie Ramos and Painting by volunteers from TExpL’s Community Art Studio at the GoggleWorks; Remake Learning Days; Face Painting; Strolling Science Characters from a Galaxy Far, Far Away; Food Concessions; and more!

Food vendors will include Alebrije, Gourmond Food Truck, Homemade Cravings, Two-Can Kettle Corn, and The Perk Up Truck.
