Join Humane Pennsylvania for a thrilling evening on Saturday, Oct. 12, as we dive into the spirit of rebellion and transformation at the 2024 Humane Pennsylvania Art for Arf’s Sake Auction, themed “1977 Punk Rock Revolution.” Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m. at 2195 Lincoln Highway E., Lancaster. This year, we pay homage to the spirit of change that defined the punk rock era, paralleling the significant strides we’ve made in animal welfare over the last few decades.

In 1977, the world saw David Soul’s infamous song climb the charts while The New York Times dubbed punk rock as “London’s latest fad.” That same year, over 10 million animals were euthanized in shelters across the U.S. Today, however, the landscape has shifted dramatically. Euthanasia rates have plummeted by over 90%, with an incredible 98% reduction at Humane PA. Our organization proudly stands as a beacon of hope with one of the most comprehensive veterinary programs in the region.

Just as punk rock challenged the status quo, Humane PA believes in the power of advocacy and innovation. Our mission is simple: if you don’t like what’s playing on the radio, you have to write your own song.
