Chamber ensemble to perform in Schuylkill Haven

The Gabriel Chamber Ensemble is set to conclude its 35th season with a concert featuring the viola along with violins, cello and piano, and a special celebration on Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. in Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 252 Dock St., Schuylkill Haven..

Music presented will include Schuylkill County premieres of York Bowen’s “Fantasie for Four Violas” and Arensky’s “Piano Quintet.” Another work featuring the violas is the Mozart Quintet with Two Violas in G Minor.

Concert attendees will have the opportunity to bid on two paintings by Michael McCord, an artist at the Walk In Art Center. These artworks, which can be viewed at www.gabrielensemble.org, were painted during the GCE’s November concert, inspired by the music and the musicians.
