Children hunt for the Great Pumpkin in the Swamp

About 75 children and their families came out for an evening of fun and entertainment for the Great Pumpkin Hunt in the Swamp 2021 held at Longswamp Township Park on Oct. 2.

The event featured hayrides driven by the Swamp Monster up to the field of pumpkins. The children each got to pick one pumpkin when they then decorated.

They also played Halloween Bingo for prizes, received free candy and baked goods from the Longswamp Township Parks and Recreation committee and watched the movie “Halloween Town.”

Prizes were given out for the 1st place and runner up winners of the costume contest.

Cutest: sock monkey, Teagyn Herman of Mertztown and Olaf, Rowan Geisel of Mertztown.

Scariest: Vampire, Penny Fugale of Mertztown and Eyeless Jack, Carson Seip of Topton.

Unique: Ladybug, Bellarose Bailey of Macungie and marshmallow man, Seamus Herley of Mertztown.

Movie theme: Wednesday Addams, Margot Fugate of Mertztown and Harry Potter, Linnea Bisbert.
