City of Reading Fire Department Receives Custom Mechanics Vehicle from Reading Truck at No Cost to the City

The City of Reading Fire Department has received a custom-built Classic II Aluminum service body, generously designed, manufactured, and outfitted by Reading Truck at no cost to the City. This one-of-a-kind contribution represents significant cost savings for the department and enhances the efficiency of fire apparatus maintenance.

Fire Department Mechanic Emergency Vehicle Technician Josiah Fegley and Deputy Chief Mike Glore led the project and collaborated closely with Reading Truck to make sure the vehicle satisfied the department’s particular operational requirements. The new service truck will allow for improved on-site maintenance and repair capabilities, ensuring the department’s fleet remains in top condition to serve the community.

“This partnership with Reading Truck demonstrates the power of local businesses giving back to their community,” said Mayor Eddie Morán. “Their generosity provides a direct benefit to our Fire Department and ultimately to the residents of Reading. I want to thank Reading Truck, Deputy Chief Glore, and all involved for making this project a reality.”

Nate Goodnow, President and COO of Reading Truck Body, emphasized the company’s appreciation for first responders and noted that this was an extraordinary project: “As a national manufacturer and distributor of work truck bodies and equipment, as well as a proud member of the Reading, PA, community, we welcomed the opportunity to support our hometown fire department in a meaningful way. It will be an honor to see the Reading tailgate proudly displayed on the back of the Reading Fire Department vehicle.”
