The City of Reading is proud to announce the launch of Reading Self-Serve, a new online portal designed to streamline the process of applying for permits, licenses, and other city-related applications. This user-friendly platform provides 24/7 access, allowing residents, businesses, and contractors to conveniently submit applications, pay invoices, check statuses, and receive approvals—all from the comfort of their homes or offices.
Reading Self-Serve is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to increase efficiency and accessibility and modernize public services. The portal covers a wide range of applications, including but not limited to:
- Business Registrations:
- Contractor Business License
- Food, Retail, and Wholesale Business Licenses
- Festival and Special Event Business Licenses
- Amusement and Admission Business Licenses
- Non-Profit and Rental Business Licenses
- Tattoo Business License
- Construction Permits:
- Commercial and Residential Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Permits
- Temporary Dumpster Permits
- Event Permits:
- Block Party Permits
- Special Event Permits
- Community Site Reservations
- Certificates of Fitness & Appropriateness:
- Fireworks, Sprinkler, and Suppression Certificates
- Certificate of Appropriateness for Properties in Historic Districts
“Reading Self-Serve is a game-changer for our residents and business owners,” said Mayor Eddie Morán. “By transitioning to an online platform, we are increasing accessibility, improving transparency, and making it easier for everyone to interact with the City of Reading’s services.”
The portal is now live and can be accessed at readingpa-energovweb.tylerhost.net/apps/selfservice#/home.
