From City of Reading
The City of Reading is proud to announce that Lehigh Valley Business has selected the Centre Park Revitalization project as one of the recipients of the 2025 Top Projects Award. This accolade recognizes the best building and construction projects completed in the Lehigh Valley area during 2024.
The Centre Park Revitalization project was honored for its thoughtful and transformative updates, which restored the park’s historic charm while incorporating modern conveniences. Renovations included the restoration of a Victorian-era fountain, the replacement of an asphalt circle with elegant Pennsylvania Blue Stone pavers, and enhancements to walkways. Additional updates introduced new lighting, planters, benches, and vibrant plantings to create a tranquil, passive park environment. To support future events and gatherings, the park now features strategically placed electrical and watering locations.
Mayor Eddie Morán said, “Receiving this recognition means so much to our community and to me personally. Centre Park has always been a special place for families, friends, and neighbors to come together, and now it’s been revitalized in a way that honors its history while creating new opportunities for everyone to enjoy.”
“The 2025 Top Projects awards are literally changing the landscape of the Lehigh Valley. Their innovation, design, and construction are creating projects that are making a mark on the community,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/Lehigh Valley Business. “We at Lehigh Valley Business are pleased to honor these incredible individuals and businesses who help to make the Lehigh Valley a wonderful place to live, work, and play.”
Projects were judged on the following criteria: degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors, management, and in some cases government, adaptive reuse, and sustainability efforts. In addition, the projects must have been located in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Lower Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Upper Bucks, and Schuylkill counties. Winners of the 2025 Top Projects Awards were chosen by the editors of Lehigh Valley Business. The City of Reading also congratulates Berks County Investments LLC, whose Berks County Trust Building at 35 N. 6th St. in downtown Reading was also recognized as a recipient of the 2025 Top Projects Award.
