Cocalico runs past Conrad Weiser in football opener

Anthony Bourassa rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns as Cocalico ran past Conrad Weiser 36-21 in a non-conference football opener Saturday at Denver.

The Eagles gained 334 yards on the ground and offset a tremendous performance by Scouts quarterback Logan Klitsch, who passed for 275 yards and one touchdown and ran for 62 yards and two scores.

Klitsch scored on a 22-yard run and connected with Trey Dianna for an 18-yard touchdown, which gave Conrad Weiser a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.

Cocalico took control in the second quarter, scoring on Austin Vang’s 5-yard run and Blayke Taddei’s 74-yard strike to Steven Flinton. Vang added a two-point conversion run to put the Eagles up 21-14 at halftime.

Bourassa took over in the second half, scoring on a pair of 5-yard TD runs and adding a two-point conversion. He ran for an 88-yard score in the first quarter.

Klitsch scored on a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring. He completed 18-of-30 passes and threw an interception.
