CommunityAid, which operates seven thrift stores and donation centers in Central Pennsylvania, including one location in Reading, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a Block Party and 1-Year Anniversary Celebration at its Berks County store location on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Block Party will be held at CommunityAid’s newest thrift store and donation center, located at 5370 Allentown Pike, Reading. In celebration of CommunityAid’s 1-year anniversary since joining Berks County, shoppers will enjoy a one-day-only sale, limited to only the Berks County store location, that will include 50% off all tags (excluding clearance tags), information, and resources provided by local community leaders in Berks County and more.
“Berks County welcomed CommunityAid with open arms in September of 2023, and we have been blessed to serve the community over the last year,” stated Matthew Healy, Director of Marketing for CommunityAid. “In addition to the one-day, one-store-only sale that we will be hosting during the Block Party, we are thrilled to host and highlight a few of our Berks County Partners and the amazing resources that they provide to the community.”
The Berks County-based thrift store and donation center, which serves as CommunityAid’s seventh location in Pennsylvania, opened its doors in September 2023. Since 2009, CommunityAid is proud to have donated over $23 million to local nonprofit organizations that support those suffering from food insecurity, homelessness, or basic needs.
