Conrad Weiser quickly built a 14-point lead, then held off Elco’s comeback attempt in a non-league win for the Scouts Friday at Robesonia.
Both quarterbacks were successful in the ground game, with each running for three touchdowns.
Conrad Weiser took an early lead thanks to big performances by receiver Aanjay Feliciano and quarterback Logan Klitsch.
The Scouts (2-1) scored first on a first quarter touchdown run by Cameron Jones from 1 yard. They followed that with a 1-yard pass from Klitsch to Feliciano on their next drive.
Feliciano led all receivers with nine catches for 195 yards and a touchdown.
The Raiders got the running game going in the second quarter, with a touchdown run by quarterback Cole Thomas from 5 yards. The Scouts answered with a 23-yard touchdown run from Klitsch.
The second quarter scoring continued with an Elco touchdown by running back Luke Williams, who scored on a 6-yard run.
Klitsch responded with another touchdown, this time from 16 yards.
Elco scored the first half’s last points on a 3-yard run by Thomas with 20 seconds left.
The Raiders’ comeback attempt continued in the second half. After forcing a punt on Conrad Weiser’s possession, Williams scored again on a 9-yard run.
Williams led the way on the ground for Elco, finishing with 184 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.
One possession after throwing an interception in the end zone, Klitsch extended the Scouts’ lead with a 30-yard touchdown run.
Klitsch completed 12-of-17 pass attempts for 230 yards and a touchdown, along with one interception. He also ran for 103 yards and three touchdowns.
Thomas got into the end zone one last time for Elco, finishing with 13 carries for 66 yards and three touchdowns.
Conrad Weiser’s offense finished the game by picking up four first downs on its final possession.
