Quarterback Donovan Gingrich ran for two touchdowns as Conrad Weiser remained unbeaten with a 21-7 high school football victory over Warwick on Friday night.
The Scouts, who gave up just 117 yards in total offense to Warwick, are 8-0 and 5-0 in Section 3 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. Warwick drops to 4-4, 3-2.
Gingrich scored two first-half touchdowns, the second giving the Scouts a 21-7 lead, and then the defense shut down the Warriors in the second half.
Ashton Kieback’s 1-yard run and Alex Malone’s PAT gave Conrad Weiser a 7-0 lead with 4:46 left in the first quarter.
Gingrich then scored from 1-yard out and Malone again made the PAT to make it 14-0 with 1:18 left in the first quarter.
The Warriors pulled to within 14-7 on Reece Harper’s 1-yard run and Tyler Schoffstall’s PAT with 5:03 left in the half.
Gingrich got his second touchdown on a 6-yard run and Malone’s PAT made 21-7 with 1:22 left in the half.
Conrad Weiser finished with 232 yards total offense and 12 first downs, limiting Warwick to just six first downs.
Gingrich completed 7 of 11 passes for 94 yards and he ran for 14 yards on 7 carries.
Evan Miller gained 38 yards on 7 carries for the Scouts, and Kiebach had 29 yards on 8 carries.
There were a total of seven punts in the game.
Conrad Weiser puts its unblemished record on the line Friday in a key Section 3 game at Cocalico, which is 4-0 in league play and 6-2 overall. Warwick hosts New Oxford in a non-league game.
