Construction to cause delays on Pa. Turnpike between Morgantown and Downingtown

Motorists traveling on a segment of the Pennsylvania Turnpike early Tuesday may face delays due to construction.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced that motorists should be prepared for slow-moving and stopped traffic from 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. between the Morgantown and Downingtown interchanges. There will be intermittent 15-minute traffic stoppages that will effect traffic traveling east and west.

The stoppages are due to the installation of bridge beams on the bridge that carries Park Road over the turnpike.

During the stoppages, turnpike maintenance and state police vehicles will restrict traffic to a speed of 20 mph to 25 mph. Changeable message signs will also provide information.
