Crews respond to ‘water emergency’ at Lake Ontelaunee

Berks County emergency crews responded to Lake Ontelaunee in Maidencreek Township Saturday afternoon.

The crews were called to a “water emergency” in the Lake Shore Drive and Calcium Road around 3:30 p.m. Initial reports were that a fisherman may have fallen through the ice, however the Reading Eagle could not immediately verify that information.

Emergency dispataches indicated scuba and marine units were sent to the scene.
