Daniel Boone boys finish third in the Pennsylvania State High School Bowling Championships

The Daniel Boone boys finished third in the team portion of the Pennsylvania State High School Bowling Championships Saturday at Eastway Lanes in Erie.

The Blazers were second after three standard games and six Baker games of qualifying. In the semifinals, which were the best two-of-three Baker games, Boone lost 2-0 (179-160, 232-169) to third-seeded Manheim Township.

The Blue Streaks, who eliminated the Blazers in the quarterfinals of the Eastern PA Regional Bowling Championships, went on to beat top-seeded Butler 2-1 in the final.

In qualifying for Boone, Evan Miller rolled a three-game series of 589. He was followed by Blake Jeitles at 580, Patrick Moore at 556 and Kendall Smathers at 535. Jack O’Keefe had a two-game total of 332 and Hunter Smathers had a 111. The Blazers then rolled 553 and 601 in their two Baker games for a total of 3,857.

Butler finished with 3,917 pins to earn the top seed. Manheim Township finished with 3,821. Truman was the final qualifier from the 12 teams at 3,803.

Manheim Township beat Truman 2-0 in the quarterfinals.

In girls, Gov. Mifflin rolled a 3,003 in qualifying to finish 12th. Valleri Addis led the Mustangs with a three-game series of 536.

Shikellamy, the top seed, won the team title, beating second-seeded Penn Manor 2-1 in the final.

Antietam’s Ayden Davis won the individual boys title Friday.
