Discover Resources for Students with Disabilities at 2025 Secondary Transition Expo

From Berks County Intermediate Unit

The Berks County Transition Coordinating Council (BCTCC), in partnership with the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU), invites students, families, and community members to the 2025 Secondary Transition Expo on Thursday, April 10, at the BCIU Main Office Building (1111 Commons Blvd., Reading). This free event is open to the public from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and no registration is required. Spanish interpreters will be available to assist families.

Navigating the transition from school to adulthood can be challenging for students with disabilities and their families. The BCTCC Secondary Transition Expo offers a convenient “one-stop shop” experience, connecting students and families with more than 40 local agencies, organizations, and resources to support a smooth and successful transition.

Attendees can also participate in informative breakout sessions on key topics:

  • 4:30-5:30 p.m. | Wills and Trusts
  • 5:30-6:30 p.m. | Financial Planning
  • 6:30-7:30 p.m. | Waiver Funding
  • 6-7 p.m. | Post-Secondary Education

Adding a delicious touch to the expo, Chef Tim Twiford from Redner’s Markets will team up with students from the John Paul II Center for Special Learning to prepare hot and cold menu items available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the BCTCC Scholarship & Financial Award Fund.

Do not miss this opportunity to connect with valuable resources, gather important information, and support an impactful cause!
