Eric Nangle ran for three first-half touchdowns as visiting Exeter rolled past second-seeded Manheim Central 43-26 Friday night in a District 3 Class 5A football quarterfinal.
Colin Payne threw touchdown passes in the first half to Joey Schlaffer and J.R. Struass as the seventh-seeded Eagles (8-3) built a stunning 36-0 halftime lead.
Exeter advanced to the semifinals and will play next Friday at sixth-seeded Cedar Cliff, a 10-7 winner over Shippensburg.
Nangle rushed for touchdowns of 22, 22 and 43 yards and Payne tossed scoring passes to Schlaffer for 31 yards and to Strauss for 15 yards. Ty Yocum made a tackle in the end zone for a safety.
Nangle ran for 196 yards in the first half and Exeter gained 375 total yards.
Judd Novak threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Owen Sensenig with 7:59 left in the third quarter to put Manheim Central (9-2) on the board.
Yocum answered with a 2-yard run that made it 43-8. The Barons scored three touchdowns in the final seven minutes.
Manheim Central had won District 3 Class 5A titles in 2017-18 and own a record 18 district championships overall.
