Evening on the Green at Daniel Boone Homestead

From Daniel Boone Homestead

The Daniel Boone Homestead is excited to announce its upcoming summer event, Evening on the Green, which will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 4-8 p.m. Centered around lively music and delicious food and drink in the historic ambiance of the Homestead, Evening on the Green is Daniel Boone Homestead’s only after-hours event. Plus, enjoy a colonial beer brewing demonstration and learn more about its interesting history in 18th-century Pennsylvania. Don’t miss this opportunity for a unique and relaxing evening at the Homestead.

Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy a pop-up biergarten by Sly Fox Brewing Co. as well as wine and mead by Ridgewood Winery and Stonekeep Meadery. Delicious food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available from Wow Wagon and Munchiez. And new for this year, a variety of craft and specialty food vendors will also be in attendance. The Boone House and Bertolet Log House will be open all evening for tours, and visitors are invited to stroll the grounds as dusk falls. Visitors can enjoy activities and demonstrations in the historic area, including colonial toys, lawn games, tavern games, and basket weaving. Zachary Long, Museum Educator at Pennsbury Manor, will be offering a colonial beer brewing demonstration throughout the evening as well.

Live music on the lawn will be provided by the Haycreek Valley Goldband and Days of Old. Daniel Boone Homestead is thrilled to welcome both of these groups back to the Homestead this year. The music kicks off with Haycreek Valley Goldband, as they entertain visitors with traditional folk and roots music. This five-piece band features guitar, banjo, violin, and percussion. Then, enjoy bluegrass and folk tunes from Days of Old. A six-piece group, Days of Old features banjo, guitars, and violin. Bring a lawn chair, blanket, or both, grab some delicious food and drink, and join other patrons on the Homestead lawn for a fun and entertaining evening.

Admission is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors (65+), and $5.00 for youth (6-17). Children 5 and under and Daniel Bone Homestead Associate members are free. Additional fees apply for food, drink, and vendor purchases. Please, no pets (except service animals) and no smoking. Visit the Daniel Boone Homestead’s website or Facebook page (@ Daniel Boone Homestead) for more information. The event is presented and funded by The Daniel Boone Homestead Associates.
