Daniel Boone Homestead to Host Evening on the Green

by Daniel Boone Homestead Associates

The Daniel Boone Homestead is scheduled to host Evening on the Green on Saturday, June 29, from 4-8 p.m.

The Daniel Boone Homestead is excited to bring back its summer evening event – Evening on the Green. This newly envisioned after-hours event will feature a pop-up biergarten by Sly Fox Brewery as well as wine and mead by Ridgewood Winery and Stonekeep Meadery. Plus, enjoy delicious food, frozen treats, and non-alcoholic beverages from Wow Wagon and Mister Softee. Throughout the afternoon and evening, guests will be able to enjoy a colonial beer brewing demonstration by the Regimental Brewmeister. The Boone House and Bertolet Log House will be open all evening for tours, and visitors are invited to stroll the grounds as dusk falls. We invite visitors, young and old, to try their hand at colonial toys, lawn games, and tavern games in the historic area. Music on the lawn will be provided by the Subterraneans and Days of Old.

We are excited to have the Regimental Brewmeister joining us for an authentic colonial beer brewing experience. This process is lengthy and takes several hours to complete. The Brewmeister, a.k.a. Michael Carver, will be on-site beginning at 11:30 a.m. the day of the event to get the process started early and allow for enough time to finish creating his brew. Even then the process will not be complete as the beer will need to ferment off-site for about ten days and then need to be bottled. Mr. Carver uses the brewing methods available in 1750 to interpret the craft of a simple Journeyman Brewer.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity for a relaxing summer evening at the Homestead. Admission: Adults $10.00, Seniors (65+) $8.00, Youth (6-17) $5.00. Children 5 and under and DBHA members are free. Additional fees apply for food and beverage purchases. Please, no pets (except service animals) and no smoking. Visit our website or Facebook page for more information – and Daniel Boone Homestead on Facebook. The event is sponsored and presented by The Daniel Boone Homestead Associates.
