From City of Reading
Get ready for an explosion of color, creativity, and community as downtown Reading’s second annual Color & Art Fest Block Party will take place on Saturday, July 12, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This exciting event is set to take over the 600 and 700 blocks of Penn Street, bringing a day full of fun, food, fitness, and all things color and art.
In partnership with Nemesis Fitness, the Reading-based run club will host their fifth annual Color Run – a free, non-competitive, and untimed event open to runners of all ages and fitness levels — as part of the event. This year’s Nemesis Color Run will begin and end at downtown Reading’s Color & Art Fest, blending movement and celebration in a burst of color. Participants will be showered in vibrant, non-toxic powders as they make their way through downtown Reading, creating a moving work of art in motion. With over 1,100 runners already signed up, there’s still time to join the fun — registration remains open. Those interested can sign up here.
The Color & Art Fest Block Party promises a full day of activities for all ages, including:
- Music by DJ Henry Houdini to keep the energy high throughout the day.
- Featured artists: collaborative graffiti art installation by Mike Miller and friends, live painting by Ahnia “Distortedd” Santana, and comic artwork by Luke “The Orange Runner” McCambley.
- Delicious food and drinks: Enjoy food and treats from a variety of local vendors, such as El Sanwichon, Fiesta Churros, Fritura Kings, El Patron, Choy’s Caribbean Stir Fry, The Pulse Café, Playa Bowls, La Abuela, and Winnie’s Tea Bar, and beverages from Pagoda City Brewing and Cheers Bistro by Hilton.
- Vendors and community tables: Check out some of our local artist wares, such as community tables with important information, and activities, such as the Beads & Babbles, BCN D’Lux Hair, Dee’s Fashions, Delux Beauty, Glitter Me, Grifols, K&G Customs, LRC Crochet, Pixels In Print, Que Rico Dance Studio, Sparkle and Shine, Sugary Jayy Sweets & Treats, Sweet Faces of Art, TCA Don’t Quit Foundation, T-MOBILE, Unitas Domus, and YMCA.
