Exeter basketball event raises funds for scholarships

Eight teams met Saturday at Exeter Junior High School for the Josh Brown Classic, a single-elimination tournament in honor of an Exeter student who passed away in 2008 at the age of 17.

The funds raised go to the Josh Brown Scholarship funds, which is given to a senior Exeter basketball player each year. This years winner was Colin Payne.

In addition to great basketball, the event featured an emcee, a DJ, volunteers and concessions.
