Exeter falls to Imhotep Charter in PIAA Class 5A boys basketball final

HERSHEY — Exeter lost 78-40 to Imhotep Charter Friday in the PIAA Class 5A boys basketball championship game at Giant Center.

The District 3 champion Eagles (27-7), in a state final for the first time since 1974, turned it over seven times in the first quarter in falling behind 16-6.

Kentucky commit Justin Edwards scored 11 points in the first half as the Panthers (30-3) took a 43-21 halftime lead on the way to their ninth state title.

Imhotep led 65-36 after three quarters.

Anthony Caccese, Alex Kelsey had Kevin Saenz each scored 10 for Exeter.

Edwards finished with 16 points for Imhotep. Rahmir Barno had 15.
