Exeter Township has a new member of its board of supervisors.
At a meeting Monday night, Tony Rinaldo was selected to become the board’s fifth member. He will fill a vacancy left when Ted Gardella resigned on Aug. 28.
Rinaldo was selected following a series of interviews with interested candidates. He was chosen after receiving three yes votes at Monday meeting, one each from David Vollmer Jr., George Bell and David Hughes.
Rinaldo is to serve until the end of the year. The supervisor seat he is filling is one of three in the township that will appear on the November election ballot. Rinaldo is not running in that race.
Rinaldo has not yet officially taken his seat as a supervisor. Though he attended Monday’s meeting where he was appointed, a district judge was not on hand to swear him in.
It is likely he will be sworn in at the board’s next meeting on Oct. 9.
